OK, on Friday, going at cruising speed in wide open water, 3 or four times within a 1/2 hour time frame, I had a VERY BRIEF lurch forward because the motor would quickly die, then catch right back up... Same thing happened on Sunday. Everything seems fine. Operating temp, oil pressure, all of the electrical seems fine. It idles fine, runs great except for about 3 seconds in the last couple days...
Anyone else ever have this problem? Any ideas?

i think i got bad gas.

I was thinking bad gas even before reaching gcalan's post. It is a pretty good idea to use an additive about every third fillup anyway.

Interesting, I had thought of that, but dismissed it because it just CAN'T Be that easy

But I did fill up last week, and got 87 octane (I am usually a sucker for the 89) I wonder if that could be it...
Thanks

I lost all of June on the water.
It started out with your Symptoms and got worse each day.
Got to the point where she wouldn't run at all.
Turned out I had water in my gas. A lot of it!
Change your filters and dump some dry gas it her.
See what happens.
