I'm taking my 12 year old to lsc bass fishing this weekend (north channel area).
I would like for him to catch a few good sized bass (I would'nt mind catching
a couple myself).
We generally fish small inland lakes and lsc is a whole lot of water!
any suggestions?
thank you

A couple areas close to the launch you can try are Fisher/Goose Bay. There should be some fish relating to the reeds close to shore or any isolated weed beds in the bay itself. The other are would be to head out of the North channel are work the northern shoreling of Fairhaven. Look for rocks and weed.

If you happen to make it over by South River Rd. definitely work the rock wall out in front of the launch. Many tournaments are held there and a lot of the fish they release hold in that area. Even on a bad day you can usually pick up 3 or 4 smallies there. Just remember to not be fishing in the boating channel there is enough congestion there already.

Thanks for the help guys, We found alot of good areas
but had little success.
We launched at the north channel and managed 1 perch
(on a tube!) in the sni.
At grassy island we could'nt find any bass so we tried
the fairhaven area with the same results.
We finally caught a few largemouth on spinnerbaits in the canals near fairhaven. If we would have started here, I think we would have done pretty good. great forum!
thanks again
