Need some help. New boater and have my boat at Sassy for the winter. Boat will be launched April 23rd and will take it to Jeff Beach in St clair Shores that day. Will go thru the North Channel. Think the Red/Green markers will be in by then?. Otherwise I'll get into trouble in the shallow water. Will appreciate some advice. Thanks---

If their not in yet you could always go up to Algonac and take the St. Clair river down to Lake St. Clair and look for the 9 mile tower and follow it across. If your not familiar with the lake where the channel comes out, make sure you go out a ways before you cut across. I believe the forth set of buoys is the racon buoy. If you cut across from there it should be a straight shot. You may want to get you a chart and check it out first.
I'am out at Saasy's too. In building one.

I got in trouble last year by the North Channel Yacht Club . Next day I bought my GPS and it was a best investment for whole summer
Make sure you get a GPS Chartplotter if that is the solution... The depths are noted on the chartplotter....I know I love mine and would be lost without it...no pun intended.

I'm always in before that and believe they will be in. If you have never been around nine mile, watch out for the sunken island right in front of JB, and miller. There is a bouy at both ends of the island. You hae to parallel the shore line for a while then head to deeper water. Plenty of water along the shoreline. If I was at home I would post a chart for you.

wow never knew that, but then again its not my boat I'm driving back its my buddies 22 footer. we just head straight for the tower and once we can see the miller marina sign in "waffle house" style leters we point to that. Man he's really gotta let me know this stuff.
