Fishing is fair on the northern portion of the lake if you are targeting small mouth bass. Fish are being taken in shallow water on or near sandbars using live and artificial baits. The area south of the Selfridge boat launch has produced as well as any place on the lake.

Walleye fishing has slowed markedly off the Metro Beach area with most anglers getting very few fish. The north channel of the St Clair River has produced sporadic catches of walleye near Decker's Landing using jigs.

A few decent catches of pan fish have been seen but there is no clear indication where those fish are being taken. Few perch are being seen at this time.
