Well, looks like were to the point of the season winding down. Time for one more fun run.

August 30th, Saturday.

Start to gather in Front of Mac and Ray's at 10:00 am

Leave at 11:00 sharp, whether everyone is there or not. One of the past runs we had boats showing up late and others that had to leave early so we ended up too scattered and left BRS behind.

Take off for Pepper Joe's for lunch. Take the route up along Gull Island, up the South Channel, into North Channel, and then to Pepper Joes.

Regather in front of Gull Island

Regather at the start of North Channel

In the past the stopping spots were not used and we had smaller slower boats falling way behind and running by themselves. Let's be courteous to all and leave no one behind by themselves.

On the return, regather at the North Channel, then blast to Muskamoot Bay.

As always, any of the cruiser folks want to meet us for lunch let me know so I can get a head count.

Monitor Channel 69.

Let me know who is coming and how many passengers.

I'm there.

One suggestion I have, is to possibly take the old south channel around the North side of Gull and mill around up there. There's a lot of boat traffic directly East of Gull in the main channel and I think 6 - 12 boats floating in the middle of the river would NOT be a good way to make any new friends. I'll try to make a "route map" and post it somewhere here before the event.

Also, does anybody have ideas for "alternative" places to eat up the river? Peppers is cool and all, but what about something up in Port Huron? How much further up the river is that from the city of St. Clair? I seem to remember grabbing lunch at a riverfront place a few years back, but haven't returned. Anyone got the dirt on a Port Huron place that can accommodate 10 - 12 boats average length of 30 feet?

There is a dive bar in Port Huron and the Quay Brewery which is awesome. Its about 10 miles further to Port Huron and I don't know how the docking is for Quay Brewery. As for the route, that's the area I meant, the north side of Gull.

6 to 12 boats, that's not being very optimistic! I have 5 crayolaed in right now.

Optimism is for sucks! I'm a textbook Nihilist!

Milord, you guys will all be missed. We'll have a beer, or two, or twelve (is that being any more optimistic Tom?) for you guys! Try talking Jon and CG into P.I.B on the weekend of the 13th - 14th.

Sorry my boat is down. I have to pull a motor and repair a drive. I broke the coupler for the port Motor and need minor drive work to the starboard side. Broke both before making any speed passes in Mossouri. We need to get a bunch to go down next year for the shootout. The fastest boat ran 205 (Callan Marine) with the fastest V Hull being a 42 outerlimits that ran 138. Talk about impressive boats, pontoons running 70 + mph. Without my boat we really suffered we had to ride on my buddies 42 outerlimits with triple 575 he ran just under 100 mph.

Yep what a way to ruff it. Hot and cold running water and still almost a 100 mph. Not to mention heat and air conditioning. Meet Mike Fiorie (?sp) the owner of Outerlimits. He was super nice. All 4 outerlimits won there class. and Sunsation won the stoke class with a dominator with 496's in it. He was from Port Hurin I forget his name. I am going again next year but going for 10 days. We love it down there. Too far for the 4 day trip we keep doing.

I've got another boat coming. 30 some scarab although they would like to see a chart of the course or more importantly of the lunch stop. Do we have one set in stone yet? Can anyone put a marked chart together? Thanks.
