QUOTE(3crabs @ Jan 21 2004, 11:23 PM)Not sure of the chemical name-I think its trichloroethelene-also known as brake parts cleaner-you can purchase it at a auto parts store for 2-3 bucks-but check the contents and test it out on a area that is not seen first-Ill try to remember tomorrow to read a can and post the proper spelling. it works on delicate fabrics too as a stain remover.
trichloroethylene: for you chemistry buffs C2HCl3.
My chemistry textbook defines as:
A highly volatile inhalation anaesthetic used mainly in short surgical procedures where light anaesthesia with good analgesia is required. It is also used as an industrial solvent. Prolonged exposure to high concentrations of the vapor can lead to cardiotoxicity and neurological impairment.
Translation: It'll get the grease out, but you and your ferrets could get stoned on the fumes...then fall asleep. Use with plenty of ventilation!!
