well, the good thing is I am keeping up with my resolution about getting my arse into the dentist and switching out all my silver fillings to white

another visit that needed to be taken care of was extraction of a wisdom tooth by an oral surgeon. that's what I did this morning...

Happy it's over but g*d [email protected] that was scarey this morning. Got some wicked Rx pain killers (the Rush Limbaugh kind) for the pain too.

He was a wonderful surgeon that catered to cowards (I got the IV and got knocked out for it under general anesthesia) ~ So FYI:
Dr. Anthony Kasper of Oral Surgery Specialists (16 & Utica)
if anyone cares for a good recommendation

back to twilight zone laa laa land for me

OMG there is noooooo way I could've done anything afterwards

I was so disoriented from getting knocked out I had to have someone help me walk to the car to be driven home - then I almost passed out when I got home & the surgeon's pain meds wore off - I was seeing stars man!! I have NO tolerance for tooth pain at all - tonight sleeping should be interesting. I keep waking myself up being afraid I'm gonna choke on the qauze

like I said...chicken $hit. But thank gosh it's over

I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled when I was in high school. I also opted to be put out. Not because of fear. I just figgured why sit there under a local for an hour or more watching the doc bust up and yank teeth when you can have a nice sound nap.

I remember tiring to convince my mom that I could have driven home just fine.

I don't know what he had to do to get those teeth out but my jaw was bruised and swollen and sore for a week. I'm glad that I opted to be put out.

Feel better soon Shandog!!

I've had wisdom teeth both removed and dug out from under the tooth in front of it. Its weird when you look down into that big hole in your gums.

I actually had two wisdom teeth removed from the same spot. I never got a lower-right wisdom tooth. Instead, I had 2 upper-right ones. After the first one was removed, another came in in its place.

Good luck to you, Shandog!~It will be worth the pain and buzzes

I do hope they told you not to suck out of a straw or smoke.....causes dry socket (very, very painful) They forgot to tell me the first wisdom tooth I had removed
Thank goodness I only had 3 total wisdom teeth! Obviously I went to another oral surgeon for the other two.

Nobody was knocking me out <_< I was awake for all three <_<

I'd like to have my teeth bleached.....Those over the counter products just don't seem to work. A friend of mine is going to get me a deal with the dentist she works with.

well definately no smoking because i quit so that's n/p and he told me about the no straw or sucking for a few days too afterwards.

he was very very very nice. I'm real tender today - can't open my mouth too much (some would call that a blessing in disguise) LOL and can finally go w/out the gauze. Yeck - that was gross!

Hopefully I can eat something semi-solid today
