Eddie,

Here's what you need to do:

1. Go to the post office and they will give you the forms to fill out.

2. Get you picture taken.

3. Obtain a notorized copy of your birth certificate.

4. Go back to the post office, turn the paperwork in, pay the $$, and in about 4 - 6 weeks, you'll get your passport.

Yup, you can get it in one day, but only certain post offices will do it, (regional, I think?) and you'll need to find
out the times when they offer it. Be prepaed to do lots of standing in line.

I had to get mine renewed for work, and I had to travel ASAP. Got mine at the post office at Pontiac, don't remember how much $$, as work paid for it.

Good Luck, where're you off to?

The size of the photo is critical. If not right, the applicatin will be rejected. See if the company has someone on-site (or who they use)that takes the passport photos and get extras. I think 2 are needed to get the passport and additional ones are needed to get visas, if needed. I usually ask for 8 photos at a time for visa purposes.

If I remember right, I had to send the original birth certificate in with the application and it gets returned, but that a a long time ago. You can now renew them by mail if it is within something like two years of experiation.

BOTTOM LINE: just go to the post office, just got mine for germany trip, they will take your picture and everything, takes about 5 minutes, didn't have to wait in line, the passport office is in a different area, you will have it in the mail in 4 weeks, bring your birth certificate

The post office at 9 and Mack very efficient (across from Shores Inn) go in front door and the passport office is the door on the right, (post office area is to the left.....

don't use those online services - RIP OFF
