I sold a wii bundle on ebay, and i got a email from paypal saying that i got new funds of $550.00 which is how much i sold it for, and it was pending untill i shipped it, when i did ship it i got an email saying that the buyer got overcharged of $200.00 Which all together would be $750.00 now the buyer wants me to send $200.00 to her cousin in nigeria and then paypal would give me the 750.00, something sounds not right over here?

What do you think?

Do they have the Wii?

Have PayPal collect the $750 and then refund the $200 through PayPal. Contact PayPal, it is possible to get a live person on the phone, (I have done it and they were very helpful contrary to what you hear) and ask them what to do.

When you log in to PayPal at he very bottom of the screen is a Contact Us link.

Under no circumstance should you refund the money yourself. Only work through PayPal. Only contact or reply through PayPal. Do not exchange any personal or bank information.

One other tip for the future. Get a Post Office Box, they are cheap, and use that as the shipping and return address. Keep as much of your personal info private as you can.

Good Luck and don't let this experience turn you off to online selling.

Never respond to a link that looks like Paypal and always go to the main Paypal site to login.

To any of you who sell things over the net, Be careful. If you use paypal make sure 100% the email is real, scammers usually use the same email as paypal does, and never ship an item out untill you get a payment. and dont sell things over seas. never cancel the auction before, and never refund money thru any other way then paypal.

i got scammed by selling the wii for $550.00 and then i got a fake email from paypal saying that i will receive my payment when i ship the package, well im asking you please dont fall for those Damn scammers if you find out that you were scammed call your shipper and recall the package ASAP!

The tip above from edalz is a very good one.

Never respond to an email from PayPal or your bank. Always go to the site yourself and login. Never use a link in an email always type the address yourself. Never respond to auction emails outside of the auction site.

Ebay and PayPal both have email addresses you can forward those types of emails to.

Hopefully you can recall the package let us know how it works out.
