OK, I've read all the reports and bounced around again and again. New to the board and the area.

This weekend the kids (4 and 8) along with the wife want to do some fishing out on the lake. We hope to get out by the St Clair Light and get into some of the perch that seem to be hitting in that area. The dinks won't matter they just want something tuggin at the other end. Jumbos would be nice for me because I love to eat em'

No fish finder and will actually anchor a jet boat. I'm hoping it's as simple as rigging some shiners (minnows) onto a perch harness and looking to see where the other boats are anchored to "get" in the area.

Any help / advice would be appreciated.

My buddy Brain was out near the light but he was on the other side of the channel and they did pretty good on perch with Emerald Shiners last week. He used perch rigs and caught most of his fish where there were some weeds.
