I usually fish around the st Clair light with shinners on a perch rig and I usually get out there around 6 am and get 40 by 10 o clock. My problem is when ever the clock hits noon the perch seem to shut down for the rest of the day. Do I need to move deeper or change my presentation? Or do they shut down all over the lake around noon?

timing is very important. its not just on LSC but for perch fishing in general. I try to do as much perch fishing as possible where ever when ever. super early or super late, say 5am to 11am or 8pm to 12am. it slows way down durring the hot day-light hours. you can try moving a little bit deeper or into thick weeds but the action for the bigguns will be spurattic at best. So i have found.

It is all about finding them, like it has been said, weed beds, and deeper works.

like i have been told however, anytime is a good time, you cant catch them if you're not fishing! lol
