heading to houghton lake for the hot part of july would like to catch some big pike and some nice eater eyes. looked online and there is a hole were i hits about 20 feet, my guess is that will be the best place to find the walleye in the hot part of summer, and i found a hole that drops off about 5 feet and it looks pretty promising for some pikers. body any able to give any suggestions? would like to target the bigger bike like over 32 or 34 inchers would be nice. heard at one time that you can catch pike just by useing some bubble gum on a trebble hook but id like to try and drift them and cast or troll. agaun ne suggestions would be nice.

During the middle of the day the deeper holes along the weed lines are good but in the evening towards dusk you can get them on the scattered weed flats in 4 to 8 fow.

Do a search on this forum for Houghton Lake & you'll find some reports from past years that will help.
