Heard on the news about 2 drunk drivers getting together and then the one fleeing at first by truck and then by foot. News story said a coast guard chopper hunted him down with his spot light. Was it you? I did not realize that the coast guard would assist law enforcement with such issues either?
Just figured it would have something to do with what government agency is paying for gas etc. Nice job either way.

Nope. Not me. I don't go out on the actual cases much anymore. 95% of my flying is training the new guys and standardizing the current guys. Didn't even know about it; I'm in Muskegon right now...training two new guys actually!

The chopper was say 100 feet directly over my house and the light looked like Close Encounters in my house. They searched this area for a hour. My son was freakin out lol.

Hi mikeb088,
I hope that wasn't directed at law enforcement, especially Esox. If not, my bad for the question. If so, whoa friend, take it easy.

I don't think it was. You'd be surprised at what we'll respond to. We do manhunts once in a while, but on my last tour here, we'd fly police over crime scenes for an aerial view, we look for lost hunters 60 miles inland....if we get the call....we pretty much respond to anything viable. If it's a good reason, we'll go if it's on the "coast" or not. That's what the taxpayers pay us to do.

I am pretty sure he meant good job times 200. The emoticon's name is badass, in other words esoxfly is a bad a$$ for what he did. Although I am not sure goldfish the rescue swimmer is a bad a$$.
Great flick if you haven't seen it.
