Thinking of leaving early today to put kiltz on my paneling in the basement before going out...

My question is this: Do the walls need to be sanded (smoothed out) first or can I just have at it?????

Also, how many coats do I need?

Thanks and have a nice day.

Used Kilz on on the garage door of my old house. It's thick, thick stuff. I think it'd almost act as a filler on smaller knicks, scratches, etc... I did two coats (door was black).

DO THIS WITH GOOD VENTALATION ! A MUST !
OPEN UP BASEMENT WINDOWS, PUT ON A FAN, ECT.....
EVEN CAN WEAR A COTTON FACE MASK... IT IS STRONG
NO SANDING REQ'D.
CLEAN THE WALLS ONLY
1 COAT SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT
KILZ WILL STICK TO ANYTHING

Thanks guys...

if it's that thick, do I need something special to put it on with? Was just going to use a regular old roller...

You can use a regular roller for sure.
But you can dip me into it, and rub me on the walls if you want

I've painted paneling before and it looks very nice, the ridges in the wood gives a nice texture and it bright'ns up a room.

Aren't those the skirts that Scotsmen wear?? Might look odd but it is your wall to decorate.
