well its no secret that the camry has the most american content... and you can be sure that its no "coincidence" either... just another attempt to pull the wool over the eyes of the sheep that say oh its made here... but here's another question??? Which country is money taken from, & what country is that money sent to when you buy a new car?

Hmmm Camry... send my money to where... oh Toyota... that is headquartered in Toyota City, Japan and Nagoya, Japan, & in Tokyo, Japan.

Hmmm Focus... Send my money to where... Oh Ford... That is headquartered in Dearborn Michigan, hey my neighbor works for them... yeah he's a great guy, i'd rather support good people locally than some strangers here from japan, that could care less about anything exxcept to profit from us.

Besides have you been in a toyota lately? What a cheap P.O.S.
I gotta admit, i never really have been in a toyota, but someone at work got a new camry recently & yes i do stick buy american stickers on it daily.... but honestly, i can not belive how rickety & cheap feeling the thing is? He said its his 4th camry, & this one is such a disappointment.... its way down on the quality they use to have...
Then add a weak dollar, which makes for more expensive import cars.... watch the foeirgn car plants make a mass exodus out of america when the profits arent here to be made... cuz thats just business & thats how it works!

All new cars seem like that. Even new Cadillac seems cheap.

I am not sure that all of the American workers that have jobs building these cars, supporting their family's' and paying there taxes do not tip the scales in favor of at least considering a purchase. The money that is going "overseas" most likely is to a stock exchange that one could invest in if they so desired. I do not know if a Toyota is a POS or not, if it is there should not be any reason for the "big 3" to kick their butt.

Im a contractor for Nissan and I do HVAC and engine cooling performance testing. I have tested lots of GM products, Dodge, Ford, Toyota, Acura, Honda, Mini, Renult, The american trucks can out pull everyone of them they will get hot but they will remane strong thru the entire test the Nissan toyata do well toyota makes a good truck it is strong but they put a lot of money in to it to get it were it is. Nissan have some cooling problems you will Sweat your a$$ of in them and they get hot,the best truck i have ever seen tested had to be the Silverado for pure power for cooling ford they will not get hot they run slow but keep pulling .

LOL I got 5 out of 6. Course I guessed on a few.

My Escape was assembled in Kansas City. No clue where the parts come from. And I'm pretty sure Tig's Mustang came from here too.

I got 5 of 6 too. I missed the Silverado one.

The Mustang was made here, but at AutoAlliance in Flat Rock - not at Ford. Another "grey" area.

Lol

Yeah yeah...

I was just suprised to get in that toyota & it was so crappy!!! Yeah the american companies did need to step up the qualaity & fit & finish, & they have, but at the same time we americans stepped up, they seemed to have cheapened thier cars & this dollar/yen price difference is just going to make it harder for them to turn a profit here at a competitive price, so the only business case that makes sense is to sell at a higher price which is good for america, or remove costs which makes a cheaper quality car... do the math. Bottom line is, its just business!

OK Shhhhhh..... "we americans" need to keep quiet! Lol

They gained the market share they wanted, now have a following, from Consumer reports, to car n driver, to return customers, and the media, that toyaota is the best.....
so they can cheapen up....and it will not be reported....

My Envoy was assembled in Moraine, Ohio... unfortunately, the GMT360 platform was discontinued and replaced with a soccer mom crossover

A google search said my Envoy is 80% US/Canadian parts content!! Not too shabby (if its correct).

I got 6/6

I've had some rental corollas for work trips and they suck balls. I'd rather have a Cobalt but the Focus even beats that hands down. The corolla is uncomfortable, buzzy and annoying. Just feels cheap. The cobalt just feels like a POS, only a couple steps ahead of an old cavalier. The Focus feels like an actual car. Slow and small, but it drives nice and actually feels like it has some substance to it. The only Caliber I got stank and had a CVT. Total POS but my opinion may be biased because I absolutely hate dollar / thrifty (i won't rent from them anymore).

Nowadays i'd take a Hyundai over a Corolla. Never really drove a Camry, so I can't comment on that. A friend of mine has a 230 mph Celica, though. 1.8L in it with a turbo, makes 750 or so hp at the crank. It'll do 200+ in a standing mile and if they'd have let him go over 200 at bonneville, the car has 225-235 in it wide open (with a 1.5L engine, same turbo), based on the data log and a little bit of math. I'd drive that...
