my trim tab cylinder is leaking fluid...is this an easy job to do or should i take it in??? i am assuming just bleed the lines...unbolt line...then unbolt cylinder mount from boat...am i missing something??? any help would be appreciated...thanks in advance...
I would loosen the line first, (not enough to leak) then unbolt it from the boat, quickly switch the line to the new cylinder, and then bolt the new one on. Have a couple beers for the time saved.
I just did mine last night and it was a piece of cake. I drive in to a nice shallow bay and anchored. I loosened the line at the pump and pulled it through the transom (I have Insta-trim tabs) and then threaded the new line through. I heaped on the silicone and attached the protector on the stern. I then attached the new cylinder and was done. 20 Minutes from start to finish without taking it out of the water.
