Was out on Saturday. There was good ice quite a ways out. I saw an awful lot of very good sized fish but they were a bit on the finiky side. I talked to several others that confirmed the same. I did notice that a few people did well based on what was outside of their shanties. Mini's tip about raising the jig very slowly and letting it fall slowly seemed to work well. The fish were virtually ignoring the frantic jigging of my buddies while at least showing interest in the slower jig. I didn't see many pike though. I went to visit a buddy in a nearby shanty. While I was chatting with him a monster pike swam under his hole. You'll be happy to know that it could still be swimming around the bay somewhere.
I hear alot of talk about perch but not much about pike.
Any fellow pike fisherman out there?
