I have to ask where is the sand bar in relation to Tin fish.
comming from the clinton river.
know hot to get to the fish but were hoping to go to the sand bar tonight for dinner and drinks ?
Tin fish is between the 2 water towers closer to the white Red is new baltimore and white is the Fairhaven Tower.
The fellow who owns the Sand Bar says you can dock out front in one of the 6 or 8 slips, or continue up the canal and take any open slip in his marina (no dock lines or electrical cord).
He has a good channel dug in and it's no problem getting in and out, as long as you are OK handling your boat in a little bit of a tight area once in awhile (depends on size). The other side of the canal is private homes and evryone has a boat on the seawall, it seems, so you have to take it slow & easy in there. I have gone in the front slips with my 32 foot by 12 foot cruiser but I was hanging out in the canal more than I was comfortable with so now we drive our car there. But for anything 26 feet or less it's beautiful.
There are a couple buoys on each side of the channel, the outer ones are 55 gallon plastic drums with lights. It's not hard to find at all.
From the Tin Fish, head due east into Bouvier Bay (maybe a little bit southeast to get around the point where the old FairHaven tower was). You just continue straight toward the eastern shore and you can't miss it - it's the only bar / restaurant along that stretch of shoreline, not counting the Raft, which is in the Northeast corner of Bouvier Bay.
