shore fishing near harrisville

I was wondering if anybody knows any good shore fishing spots in the harrisville area? I am going camping for a week at the state park and have never been in this area. I have heard that the ausable river is close but have no Idea. any help would be much appreciated. thank you in advance.

You can fish at the harrisville harbor,nice big, harbor with a long breakwall.Bob

You can fish at the harrisville harbor,nice big, harbor with a long breakwall.Bob

thanks for the reply. I know that they get salmon at the harbor but what else can you catch there?

From the breakwall, with the rocks, you can probably catch smallmouth.I know that many of the harbors along Lake huron offer a chance for perch, whitefish, and rockbass.

you might get into salmon there now and then at night but most of them wont start showing up until September October. The AuSable is close but offers little shore fishing opportunities for this time of year except at the harbor/mouth. Theres a a few bait shops in Oscoda. Id look them up and give them a call.

Hey Matt, sorry to reply to a 5 year old thread, but how did your Harrisville fishing trip go? I'm heading there this weekend and was looking at google maps at the breakwall at harrisville harbor. Were you able to walk on the rocks and get out to some deeper water? If not, where did you end up fishing?
