What up Jeff? Last trip down (about a week ago) we ran into a decent run of smallies due east of selfridge in Anchor Bay, just as the flats drop into the deeper water. Water was about 67 degrees. We fished about 40 yards east and drifted/trolled south down the shelf line. I had a purple/yellow 3.5 inch tube jig and my buddy was throwing a 4" fluke texas rigged with a bullet weight. Average around 15 inches or so, no BIG fish. Please take into account I know pretty much nothing about fishing yet, just reporting what happened
Good luck out there, can't wait to get back down myself.

Basically, here there and everywhere. There are a few left in the spring spots, some moving to deeper water and some scattered in between. We picked up a few decent smallies in Anchor Bay over the weekend.
Jeff,
What is going on is typical in the smallmouth migration patern. Right now they are definately into their summer pattern which leads them to deeper off shore structure and a tendency to school up by size. Find structure in deeper water with baitfish there also and I guarantee you find the fish. The breaks of the channels and the deepest spots of the lake can be a good place to look right now. Good luck.
Thanks for the information everyone, we've been catching a lot of largemouth in canals and a few smallies but there really is no size to any. We caught 31 yesterday but there was probably only a handful over 14in, biggest was only 16in and that was a largemouth.

BassassassinJr will have a report with pictures later on our trip from this last weekend. We did pretty good both size and quantity. I dont want to steel his thunder so watch for his thread.
We caught them pretty good on isolated weed beds up in anchor bay the last weekend in June in about 8-10 fow but it changed with the colder weather. Went back at it over the 4th weekend and water temps dropped about 5-6 degrees and although we still managed decent numbers, the bigger fish did not show up. Cold water, mayflies, high winds and no sun all were contributors so hopefully some stable weather will turn the bite on. I'll be back this weekend and don't plan on fishing any deeper then 10 fow but I may just need to weed through a few small ones until I get some bigger bites. I havn't been to the mile roads lately but I've heard through the grapevine that the bigger fish are not showing up there either. If I get it figured out this weekend I'll post my findings.
