About 1315-1330 today, we were heading to Poormans and my 9yo points and says "Hey what the smoke from?"

Looked behind us and it looked like something was really going up, maybe over in front of Metro?? It was a huge black cloud of smoke..... Everybody ok? I hope.....

Anybody know what the story is?

I passed through there about that time ... looked like a boat sank just south of the Clinton ... bunch of Sheriff boats but no smoke. Maybe not what you saw?

No, that had to be it. I think it burned fast, and all of a sudden - no smoke. I made the remark to my daughter that it may have sank. Hope everybody got off of it ok.....

I think it was the same thing I heard on the radio... boat on fire, two people in the water off the Clinton River entrance.....

Good samaritans picked up the two in the water (they sounded to be OK), and a sheriff or CG had a boat on scene with a fire hose quickly.

It burned right to the water line ... I thought it was a swamped bass boat ... wow.

The boat belongs to 2 girls that live next door to a buddy of mine on Manse near South River and Jefferson. They were not hurt.

Just wondering, does anybody know the cause of the fire?
