What is the worst for you, who knows what?

Sounds like the Atkins diet your pretty much just eating meat and your only allowed to drink Vodka. But isnt a diet of just meat bad for you. I guess if its just skinless chicken & fish you should be all right.

How is the Atkins diffrent from the South Beach?

Come on Peeps Im planning the super diet starting Jan. 2 or 3. So someone give some info.

Big NO to the cabbage soup. That was big about ten years ago. After one cup of that stuff my stomach was all full of gas...........Yuck!

They are saying the Atkins is bad for you and I am not fond of it because they say you can still eat the high fat meat, pretty much all you want, and eggs and cheese, etc.

I like the idea of the South Beach. I have been on my own versions of this diet off and on. When I stick to it I lose twenty pounds or so. I eat lowfat and low carbohydrate food. I still eat fresh fruit as my carbohydrate, but cut out ALL white flour processed foods, and white rice, and potatoes. Melts right off!

Everyone is different though!

Ive looked into both of em, Atkins diet is trying to trigger your body into whats called KITOSIN. Thats when your body survives soley on its own crap. Basically you trick your body into eating itself. Which is good if theres alot of you to eat.

My opinion if your not strict enough and you make just the simplest mistakes, KITOSIN wont happen, youll still lose weight just not at the efficient pace that you should be. PLUS all the meat youll be eating is bad for the heart valves and arteries.

The South Beach diet is a wussy version of the Atkins diet. Your sticking to the same guidlines as the Atkins just not as strict with no attempt of triggering your body to do the KITOSIN thing.

Me Ive been on eat right and excersize diets in the past where Ive lost a tremendous amount of weight. Theyve been hi COMPLEX carbohydrate and NO SIMPLE carbohydrates. Mixed in with vigerous cardio and weight training. Back in the day I could bench press Promqueen and swim to the Moot in back.

Also the Atkins diet is from 1972, and theirs a rumor that DR> Atikins died of heart disease. I think weve come a long ways since 1972. I guess we still have the same bodies as 1972 so sho knows.

Oh and for the record the Warden eats more them me, she even drinks some weight gain shakes now and then. Even with all the beer she drinks shes still dwindling away to nothing.
Yeah no kidding. It makes it hard for me to lose weight when shes always stuffing her face.

FYI

Simple Carbohydrates are found in sweets, sugars and jellys you know the bad stuff.
BEER


Complex Carbs are found in Brown Rice NOT White. Also in Wheat Bread, No Yolk Noodles and Pastas, Oat meal, Bagels.

IF your doing the vigerous excerise and weight training, youll have to add protein to your diet. To help repair torn muscle tissue. Hence thats weight training, beat the hell out of your muscles and when they heal, just like scar tissue they heal bigger and better and better prepared for the next work out. Thats how you get stronger. Weight trainers hit platues on weight loss cuz their muscles fill up with water tricking you into thinking you stopped losing weight.

Amino Acids dont make you stronger they make you heal quicker giving you more chances to work out out in a short period of time.

I only tired aminos once I always tried to avoid pills and shakes and stick to the guidelines from the book Eat To Win!!!!

I could live on saurkraut....escpecially from the Polish Market.


I told 3crabs after the holidays it's back to salads and boneless, skinless chicken breasts or salmon for us......

Good luck, CBJ! And tell the Warden she is just fine the way she is....doesn't need to gain.....Obviously she has a great metabolism and should enjoy it.

Yeah but I keep having bad dreams that I got drunk, tripped and fell on her. And when I get up shes broke into a couple of peices.

But spinning her sure is fun.

cbj, that is too ding dang do funny!!!

dan lost, like, 60+ pounds recently on the atkins diet. he's not super strict, and he keeps losing the weight.

Are insurance runs out in dec 31. How ever I made appointment to speak to my Docter tommorow. Yep next spring their will be a new and improved CBJ. Unfortunatly itll take me to the following spring to actually have a healthy attractive appearance. But hey thats what you get for jamming the beers ay!

We have done both diets but the South Beach diet seems to be working better. It seems to be easier to follow.
