Welcome to the forum! Spring on Kent Lake can be fun. You can catch fish on a jerkbait, fish on jigs, fish on cranks, fish on tubes...I'm sure you get the picture. I personally like fishing the shallow stuff...mostly wood and emergent weeds, and have done well throwing jerkbaits, shallow cranks (like a minus 1 or bandit footloose), spinnerbaits and rattle baits. My greatest success for larger fish in Kent has been focusing mainly on largemouths, and you can find them moving up shallow once the water starts hitting the high 40's and low 50's. You can target smallmouths and do very well on points and focusing on some of the sandy/rocky shoreline. I'll throw a jig and mid-diving crank on the points and just walk them up or down the point depending on how I find the fish positioned.
