August is usually one of the best months to see a lot of fish as they are feeding more times per day, You know the heat of Summer smaller baits but more often. I had my daughter out bottom bouncing for walleye this morning. We were getting whole lot of nothing. So we went in and threw some white tubes in about 4' of water just outside of Ford cove.

We weren't there 10 minutes when a big muskie took the jig and started running. I tightened the drag little by little and managed to turn him -- but then he jumped entirely out of the water and bit through the line. Since I was bass fishing, I had no leader. Very exciting though. 30+ inches for sure.
