does anyone use synthetic oil in there boat engine i do in my cars but was wondering if marine engines get hot enough for it to work ive been told its not good in lawn mowers to use . but wasnt sure about boat engines.

Nothin' but Mobil 1 has gone into my big block since I've had it. In fact, I started after I saw the receipts form the guy who used to own it, figured if he did, I'd continue too. It's in my truck as well. Car manufacturers spec it for Porsches, Corvettes and Vipers, etc... they seem to know something about hi perf engines!

I could not agree more, except: Conventional oil helps condition seals, synthetic does not. I was told by a mechanical engineer that I trust that the best way to go is two cycles with synthetic, and then one cycle of conventional. (Cycle being an oil change, never combine them)

It has worked very well for me, don't know if anyone else believes it...
