I decided to make one thread to correspond with you guy's while I'm gone.
It looks like I will join the Yacht somewhere around November 17-21. I will try to post as often as I can, and that looks like it will be fairly easy, because I just confirmed dockage at THIS marina, and it has wireless broadband. I intend to make it our base for the winter.

Rugby world cup is on in Australia. The quarterfinals start tomorrow.

England V Wales
New Zealand V South Africa
Ireland V France
Scotland V Australia

Unfortunately the USA went out in the early rounds, they are the only Rugby team I know that went on Fantasy Island and stlll lost 50 to zip

because, of the time difference they will be shown on "pay per view" at 2am and 5am Saturday and Sunday morning

Hello Shipmates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been onboard for one week now.

We departed on my first cruise with the owner on Monday (Sint Maarten to Anguilla), the Port exhaust silencer blew out after 45 minutes, but we continued on with one engine and stayed in Anguilla for 2 nights, then departed this morning for St. Barts, within 30 minutes the Starboard silencer blew out and we had to come back to Sint Maarten. I could not use either engine above idle speed (4.5 knots), we were in 8 ft seas, and had to go through the Simpson Bay bridge with a 30 knot headwind and heavy fumes leaking into the engine room. I needed bycycle clips on my pants

, but I managed to get her stern into the slip at the lagoon.

We have aborted our attempt to appear at the Antigua Yacht show next week, because of the obvious shipyard defect in the exhaust system, the boat was only lunched in April. Technicians are arriving from Holland to fix the problem, but they need a special epoxy, which is hazardous, and can only be sent by ship, because it is thanksgiving in USA, the bloody stuff will not get here to the end of next week, so this means we get to stay in Sint maarten for about a month........................OVER

Good work Merlin! So the boats brand new and it's already having problems. I know how poeple get pissed when there new 20k car has a problem or two I could only imagine having a few million dollar rig go bad right after you got it.

Happy New Year!

We just finished our first charter, cruised to Anguilla and St. Barts, Now back in Saint Martin. Our charter guests were coach Pat Riley and producer Jerry Bruckheimer. All went well and they left a nice tip.
