Terrorists work psychologically on those they want to harm by placing fear and terror in the countries masses and terrorism has absolutely no boundaries. 9-11 had to wake-up the peaceful people of this great nation. It was conscientiously planned, well thought out and brilliantly executed with unparalleled precision by cowards. Yet for many, we forget too soon. Why? Because the person, fireman, cop or military prson that was lost was not a blood relative of the individual questioning our direction. Sure they were an American but not a family member!
Third world countries recognize they cannot take this great nation's weaponry on, in a one on one fight. Our technology is light years ahead of anything and far more superior that any other country on this globe is able to produce or sell to them. However terrorists, if they hit the countries masses at regular planned intervals, the fear, chaos and disruption it will create has the potential to bring that giant to it's knees in chaos, economical disaster and fear by the masses. How many individuals asked how this could happen in our country and why didn't the government know of it or take defensive action?
I know of no one who watched the tragedy that abruptly ended so many innocent peoples lives who did nothing wrong except go about living their daily lives in a normal American way under the given freedoms in what was thought to be the safety of America who didn't feel remorse. Who wasn't appalled or didn't shed a tear at what they saw, not to mention the other thousands of family members who's impact was felt through the loss of loved ones? Even the faithful servants whose jobs and training to save lives were not prepared for the carnage the disaster inflected. They gave the ultimate sacrifice!
Support and stand behind our countries leadership! Screw the debates our press love to infuse in nightly news broadcasts. They pathetically switch sides just to keep momentum going and add interest to the broadcast reacting with sensationalism as the wind blows. Why? It's nothing but a marketing ploy to get more viewers watching their broadcasts nightly or purchasing more publications of their sad a$$ views or twisted paper. You don't have to stand totally behind everything our government and it's policy proposes. That is one of the greatest single factors of your bought freedom given to you by those who sacfriced it all for your lifestyle and handed to you free of charge because your an American. Iraq citizens don't have that freedom nor do most any third world countries. Your killed or incarcerated for views not in total support of the government.
Pure and simple PSYCHOLOGICAL FEAR is what works and is being marketed by terrorists. Packaged in explosives, biological, chemical and other forms of mass destruction delivered at any time 24-7 on your door step C.O.D. It works well, doesn't take a batallion of people and costs considerably less to execute than our enormious defense budget to enable Freedom. Can you remember the apprehension of carrying out your day to day activities as 9-11 unfolded? The presence of extreme anxiety in the days after the Trade Center Towers laid in rubble and the Pentagon was gashed open with a comerically owned american aircraft filled with American citizens blood and dead bodies? Sadly however, human nature and time softened the atrocities that occurred and the mass has begun to once again question government policy because nothing seemed to be occurring that was or is linked to terrorism. Terrorism is a nebulous weapon not seen until after the devastation is dealt, only targeting the masses of powerful nations who can't be brought down by standard weaponry. It is a slow cynical, methodically ugly process delivered in many different ways always against the peaceful innocent population at large over a prolonged period of time. It is aided and fueled by the media who reports what isn't being done in defense and deplicts the carnage of what occured, dividing normally rational people to align in causes that undermine governance principals. Would your thoughts change if three of you family members or blood relatives were lost in a disaster like 9-11?
The freedom you and I enjoy has been paid for throughout our countries history by blood, death and sacrifice of our loved ones. It's a horrorible cause to maintain the end effect of freedom. The strategic war plan of weak third world dictators and madmen has undoubtedly changed across the globe called earth, our country's course has also had to change on how we will conduct our lives and protect our soil. The vulnerability terrorist's targeted made the point clear. Do we want to sit and wait until they are on our homeland soil or do we deal with them on theirs before they get a chance to align and unify as a coalition?
Until you feel the deep pain of a loved ones death paid in their ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country and our freedom or walked the battle field looking at the strewn mangled bodies of your dead buddies, you will never fully absorb how precious and very painful the "United" in our great country's name is. They were willing to give everything to protect you, you were brothers and will alway remain that. In that moment all you had was each other, fear & each others dependence on a strong will to live and protect each other doing whatever it took.
God bless this countries leadership and each and every man and women who has taken the oath to protect and defend it for everyone including the couch quarterbacks who lay their heads down every night in the freedom of this great nation's arms only to wake and discredit or question its direction and defense strategy. They don't have a clue who keeps their freedom alive. I honor those who gave their all and continue to defend OUR freedom and I'm greatful of every person who has made the defense of our country (in any capacity) their career every day I get out of bed. A greatful person supporting a greatful nation.
