Started out early this morning (7am), started out on the edge buy the open water about 10ft off caught a few small perch then moved in, right before the the island (4FOW) caught nothing then moved the the immediate right (and then left, in reference to access point). Lots of big blues with yellow tear drop (Green and pink also worked wonders) and wax worm. After that at about 10am i moved back to the original location and caught about 250 small perch (all released) and about 30 good size perch (10"-15"). All day was fishing line of sight, perch only hit on the minnows 3 times the rest was all wax worm on yellow, green, pink and some combo colors. The big perch are spotty in the schools, fishing line of sight made it easier to get the larger perch (it was worth killing my back). water was clear as could be. Be safe if your going out there. Hope this helps.

I also fished the raft from 2-5. I started off about halfway from shore and the island in about 5' of water and got 0 bites. Tried closer by the island but couldnt find deep enough water and didn't want to get too close to the open water. Worked my way to the other side of the island and was in 6' of water. Much to my surpise my first fish of the ice season was a 13 1/2" largemouth. Thought it was a huge gill or perch at first. Ended up catching 4 gills after that one 6-8". Had a guy give me about 15-20 gills 6-9" when he left cause he didnt want them. All fish were caught on a pink/pearl color jig tipped with a spike. I'll add pics as soon as i get them uploaded.

I am always wonder why people keep fish if they dont want them. what if he didnt find somebody that wanted them? would they be left on the ice? most likely

I'm not sure why he was keeping them either. I perfer catching my own but since I didn't have many I took them cause they were all nice size and I didnt want to see them go to waste. Plus gills are pretty tasty.
