To late Schroeder .
BERLIN (Reuters) - German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder said on Saturday he deeply regretted "exaggerated remarks" critical of U.S. moves against Iraq (news - web sites) that soured his relations with President Bush (news - web sites).
In a further attempt to repair U.S.-German relations strained by his outspoken criticism, Schroeder said he was confident the dispute over Iraq would not cause long-term problems between the two countries.
I deeply regret there were exaggerated comments -- also from cabinet members of my previous government," Schroeder told Der Spiegel magazine when asked if there were "grounds for self-criticism" for damage he caused to U.S.-German relations.

Oh great the next thing France and everyone will get on board and say something like..."We regret Not supporting this effort, US has done great justice in the world and has made it a safer place this live. Does this mean US is not sending money to us anymore...Really we are sorry!"

Our friends, citizens and family members laid our lives on the line and did a FANTASTIC job, now you regret what you said.

It will take a long time to forgive some of these governments for what they did.

The one that rally bothered me was the French spray painted and descrated the memorials and tombstones of our American soldiers who gave their lives on the shores of Norther France on D-day. And there was no real public outcry on this and the media's spin on it was that of just matter of fact.

To me this is a complete slap in the face to all our ancestors who risked and gave their lives up to Save France from the Germans.

All these countries say America just cares about the money. Really it is the Russian's, Germans and French that were making billions of dollars a year off of the Sadaam regime and did not want to lose that cash flow.

Apologies accepted but do not think we know where you stand.

And as for the FRENCH I will neve step foot in that country or drink their wine again. You disrespect our dead that gave their lives for you and disrespect our living now calling our children and family members in the military terrorists. So for the respect of my country (and the lives of WWII vets who died) i will not contribute my money to a French regime who is Anti-american

Again 100 % true

More American soldiers died during D-day than French soldiers on French teritory.

Good News

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Senior aides to US President George W. Bush (news - web sites) met this week to consider ways to punish France for its opposition to the war on Iraq (news - web sites), including sidelining Paris at NATO (news - web sites) and limiting its participation in transatlantic forums, officials said.
·Participants in the meeting, held Monday at the White House after a similar gathering last week was postponed, did not arrive at any decisions but are expected to gather again, possibly next week, in an effort to reach consensus, the officials said.
The officials, speaking to AFP on condition of anonymity, said Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites)'s office had been particularly vocal in pressing for some kind of punitive measures to be taken against France.
