I remember reading several posts of "..we're going out Saturday, no matter what.."
Now..... those of you who went out after the sun came out DON'T COUNT!
But... to those who braved the downpours and ACTUALLY WERE roving the lake and rivers...
You've earned the coveted "Canvasback Award" for going out in weather only a duck would love!!!

Canvasback Award

Not today, but I've gone out on many a rainy day, so I'm at least a contender for that award.

Everyone made the best of it and it was one of the better parties out there ever!
We went out and looked at a new boat in the downpour, does that count?

If you looked her over in the rain... I'd say YES
Boated up to BBC during the rain around noon. The boating was pretty rough, couldn't see a half mile ahead of the boat at first. Once we got there had a great time at their Marti Gras party. Then today, I think everyone was in Muscamoot Bay.

Didn't do a sea trial, but we did look everything over inside and out. Shoulda brought my rain coat, it was pouring.
I didn't get out on Saturday but did for several hours yesterday. Water was quite a bit choppy but it was beautiful out there.

It was nice out. First REAL summer day!

I thought of you yesterday, because you have had more than you share of stuff like this...

I was anchored in the Detroit River, 200' outside the main channel to starboard, and at least 2,000' wide open to port. This guy in a 35'-ish cruiser glares at me as he passes by 25' away on a plane. WTF? Guess I missed the memo declaring the Detroit River a private river.

Went out saturday afternoon as soon as the monsoons ended.... Had a nice ride from
Beacon Cove over to Belle Mar to visit friends there... Ride home was great... Had the lake to
ourselves.. Water was calm..
Got the boat back on Friday. I was flying high with joy because of that. Stayed the night at Huron Pointe. Great night. Saturday was just strange. Our plan originally was to go to BBC for their adult party. We contemplated not going because of the rain, but said what the hell. So we went with the wipers running the whole time. YeeeHaaa! Boating in the rain. FUN!

Sunday; after drying the boats out we headed for Muscamoot. The reports on the radio of all the boats down there only motivated us even more. Wow! What a turn out in the bay. Before that though, we traveled down the Middle Channel at idle speed through the both no wake zones and in between. That was relaxing and fun to watch all the boats. Once in the bay we had such a great day. It was HOT. The water was refreshing. So many boats in the bay. It was a great scene. We ended up beating the storm in the evening. Once we got the car loaded up and headed down the road, the sirens were going off and the rain started to pour.

Overall, the weekend was fun. Saw so many people out on the lake. Great times. Keep on rocking!

Yes that is Cruizer swimming with the Girls Jazzy and Bailey.
Although they couldn't be bothered with him, he had a great time
swimming with them. Actually we couldn't keep him out of the
the water
