nice seven #er biggest ive gotten this year was a 6lb 27in
This one was just over 27". I don't like to eat the bigger ones and 5-8# is a good spawning size so we let 'em go if they are over 5#.
QUOTE(wallysteve @ Aug 5 2009, 05:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>lets protect the walleye fishery too i agree
they stock the crap out of walleye in michigan, ohio, canada so not sure it needs protecting but i wouldnt eat the larger fish just because of possible toxin build up

kurt are the schools of gizzard shad still out there, im assuming so with the 2 man limit
My buddy's fishfinder was on the fritz today so I did not watch it too much however there has been some bait balls in the area. We did snag a 3" spot tail shiner so that's always a good sign. First time that's ever happened although I did catch a smelt in Erie one time. No muskies today. One 10# kitty and a crapload of rockies. Also (3) 4# smallies. Like I said, lots of worms. We weren't bored.
QUOTE(wallysteve @ Aug 5 2009, 02:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>i saw a ton of boats out today lets see some reports
I was out by the channel today fishing for perch - 17 ft. of water on the Canadian side. Fished 7:30 to Noon. Caught 60 small perch, 14 9 to 13" perch and one walleye. Minnows were used. I saw at least 2 other boats who were trolling net walleyes also. Absolutely beautiful day.
QUOTE(ninjaman10 @ Aug 5 2009, 06:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>where do u guys find a good selection of harnesses? bait shops here in brighton are not very well stocked.
most of the local shops along lsc are good but try tying ur own, its really easy, you can customize them, and you can do it on the cheap. (use flurocarbon and premium hooks)
agreed. Very easy to tie your own and you can save cash. if you do, look into the hydrofoil and flash tape you can get it for 2 or 3 bucks and you can jazz up your blades pretty sweet. I wouldnt get one of those kits they sell at cabelas or ive seen at other stores that have hooks, blades, connecters, and beads(basically everything you need but the line). I just found that theres too much of the same thing, you can only come up with so many different combos out of the kit before everything starts looking the same and you end up with a bunch of the same blade and beads that you dont wanna use anymore. plus its always more satisfying when you catch a fish on something you made
Trolled out by the SCL from 4PM till 8PM. Got alot of tiny perch, 1 14" small mouth, 2 rock bass and a bite off on a purple holographic harness. Fish came on purple and gold harnesses. Nothing on other colors.

I carry over 100 different harnesses at my store....and it's right on your way to the lake.
