Took a buddy and his 13 year old son out today fishing west to east on Anchor Bay. Taking Cyle out on his 13th B-day was going to be a fun day for all aboard. Too bad the fishing wasn`t too good. Only managed 3 small bass that all came on a perch rattletrap. Started off Cotton Rd, east of the Salt, Brunner Island , Bouvier Bay, Lottieview, C- marker and finished up between the barracks and the Selfridge ramp. Water temps on the west side of the bay was 74, 67 off the island and 65 in Bouvier Bay. Milky water with floating weeds on the west side with silty water at the island and clear in Bouvier. Tried to get the young man a muskie but tossing, tails, Super Shads, Red Eye`s, Ivanhoes and large Bomber Long A`s proved fruitless. Not even a follow
They were throwing tubes, Mepps, Berkley Frenzy`s and Rattletraps. Weather was great and Cyle hung in there like a trooper. Good job Kid.
Hope you had a happy birthday

I do not know how long they will still be around, but yesterday between noon and 6:00 pm
my fishinf buddy George and I caught 32 smallies (some fairly nice ones) off the mile roads (11 mile to 13) in 7 and
8 foot of water. some were a little shallower. Most were caught on a 3/16th ounce jig head
with a Zoom fat albert grub tail in the margarita color. Towards the end of our fishing we switched
to a grayish tube.
