I did some reading of old post regarding underwater cameras. Most had nothing but praise for them and someone made the comment to make sure that anyone that looks at the monitor better have their wallets out because they are going to want one. My buddy and I are thinking of splitting the cost and getting a camera for this season. We normally fish St Clair and was wondering how many feet out from the camera can you see in St Clair? Of course it all depends on light conditions, water clarity, and depth,,, but overall in the lake (10-20ft) can you typically see structure 6-10ft from the camera?

Thanks for your help.

Usually 4 to 10 feet during the average day in normal water clarity until you get down real deep. Depends on whether it's black and white or color camera and whether or not it has Infrared (B&W) or a light (color) when it's dark or stained water.

Check out: Seaviewer if you want one that will last for years.
