need some advice. i have a 1987 30' sea ray weekender in great condition. vinal seats are original and in good condition however there are several areas where the seam is split about 1 1/2 inch. would like to make a repair and will appreciste any advice.

If the seam is splitting because the threads are pulling apart the best thing you can do is remove the seat at the end of the season and take it to an upholstery shop and have them re-sew it. If the vinyl itself is split thats a little different. I tried to repair mine on another boat that I had, it looked good for awhile but it didn't hold up.
