Just was wondering if I could get some help on the walleye fishing in the river. I have been fishing by the steel mill and the salt mine, and I find the fishing was great the last two weeks all day. But I went out on Wednesday and still caught a limit but between 6 and 9 am. Do the fish shut off after 9 now, or have the majority of them worked their way up river because of the warm weather. Couldn't catch fish any more after 10 am. Just wondering what the walleyes cycle are, just started fishing for them this year and am pretty new to it. Thanks Alot for any help.

Hey smallie once they shut down or slow down try going to deeper water, its not uncommon to find them in 40 - 50 feet in the shipping channel when going deeper use a heavier jig like 3/4 or even a full ounce,,,,,, dont know what you where using but in the afternoon i have found what works for me is to change your rig over to plastics, brown worm 7 inch style and pinch the head of if you getting short bites. and be agressive with your jerks with your jigs let the head take up the slack in your line before you drop her back to the bottom.........going to hit it Sunday morning out of Wyndott........Good luck to all
