What is with all the complaining!?!?!?

I have missed ONE day of boating this summer. That was this past Saturday and it even wasnt that bad. I could have/should have went out, but wanted to just hang at the marina.

Every week we read about horrible forecasts about the weekend and it ends up being nice. Or nice enough to boat. I hope people are not canceling plans based on a Tue or Wed forecast!!

Yeah we havent had the hottest Summer, nor the calmest winds, but we haven't had one washout weekend yet either!!

I say its been pretty damn nice thus far!!!

There Mother Nature - have I sucked up enough????

Who's complaining? There's been an above-average amount of good sailing weather this season

Doesn't work. Ask me how I know.

I totally agree Dave. The times we haven't went out hasn't been due to weather but to work or a mechanical issue. We've been out there kind of like the postal delivery .... rain or wind or sunshine.

Last week we went to Peche Island on Saturday and back to the moot because we knew we couldn't go out on Sunday because Mike was flying the friendly skies.

We will be out this weekend too if it isn't raining. Loose plans are to go somewhere Saturday, visit Metro Saturday night, and possibly hit Aquapalooza on Sunday.

Everything will be weather dependent by looking at the skies. I would still like to have a little more clear skies with sunshine and warm water but I take what I get.

One nice thing about Lake St. Clair is that there are options. A couple weeks ago the lake was really acting up so we made the run up to Lake Huron and out a ways. I got out monday and the sky was threatening and we did get caught in a little rain on the way to Brown's Bar but the Canadian side was calm and sunny! The lower Detroit River is beautiful too. So much to do. Not the hottest summer but I'm not complaining.

It really is!

I agree, lots of way-cool options!

QUOTE(Goose @ Jul 22 2009, 11:14 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>FAIR WEATHER BOATER HERE
need 80 degrees and sun to really enjoy it..... other than that its just burning gas for nothing to me.....

I fall into the same category somewhat... I (ME, MYSELF) don't mind boating in the wet, cold, or windy too much, but the wife, friends, and family aren't interested unless the sun is out and it's at least 75.... Drivin' around by myself is fun, but after a while I start thinking about how much gas I'm burnin, doin' nothin', and return to dock. Been a bad year so far for me.

Sorry, I must say this season has kinda been a bummer. Last weekend was the first time I got in the water all season to wash the boat. And the water is still freakin cold.

Although we have tried to make the best of it. We have been out in the rain and the clear days with 50 mph wind.

Next boat I want the camper top with dual biminis. Ours has the single bimini with slant back camper. When you put the top up in the rain it cuts your seating almost in half.

While I'll readily agree that this season hasn't been exactly Power-Boater Heaven (defined by sunny, hot days with calm wind and water), it hasn't been that bad! We've both a small power-boat (18' bow rider) and a sailboat (30' sloop). While most days so far have been more suitable for sailing than power-boating, IMO, in the two weeks we had our little power-boat in the water there were plenty of opportunities to use her. We went out three times and could've gone out more, had we not been constrained by various factors (such as an expired registration and the SoS closed for four days).

The water was cold on the north side of Gull, when we were over there a couple weeks ago, but the water in Belvidere Bay was nice.

Gas prices down this season - weather sub-par

Typical.

Get yourself a boat and all that should change

Good luck, you are getting something bigger????

Yes, definitely something bigger. And enjoy your beautiful August. I just got a sizeable deposit yesterday.
