Took the nephew out to do some walleye fishing. Hit the usual spot at 2pm about 4 miles off of Metro. Calmest seas I've seen in a while almost void of any wind. Ran the usual holographic harnesses with 1.5 oz BB at 1.5mph in 18fow. Probably went through 8 dozen crawlers on those pesky rockbass alone. Besides numerous smallmouths, a big ol' sheephead, a small musky, and alot of throwback perch, and losing 3 walleye boatside, we ended our day with 5 walleye and 13 nice perch in the box by 8pm. Im thinking on my next trip I will anchor and target some of those jumbo perch we have been catching on the harnesses. That's all for now. Good luck fishing!

Great report again! I was out there from 4 to 9PM, only got one Pike about the size of your Musky. Guess I'm gonna have to get some bags, can't get my speed below 2.2mph. We tried perch for awhile too but, all dinks. Thanks again for your reports, you can leed me to the area, but I'm not taking your fish. Someday I may get it right.
Ron...
wow, you always seem to do really well out there. i went out to your spot the other day and my old man caught three. i got none. however, those were the first walleye we put in the boat in 2 years so thanks alot for the location. waves were the biggest ive ever seen when i was out there. you lucked out.

Try using a drft sock it will get you down to 1.8 for sure if not a little slower.

I had the same problem with my trolling speed but the drift sock did the trick!

As always, nice job out there. I haven't been out in a couple weeks but I've got a new trolling motor now that will work out much better when trolling for eyes. Have you been tracking water temps?

The only thing my freezer is full of is fish guts until garbage day
. Actually I have less than a limit of perch and walleye in my possession at any one time. I prefer fresh fish to frozen and try to accomodate whoever might be fishing with me with fresh fillets to take home.

On the location, I have been fishing 3 miles Northwest of the light (American waters). As long as I am catching them there I guess I don't have to search for them elsewhere

Don't know where he got that shirt from. His uncle would have given him a MTU husky shirt, class of 87
