Weeds on the anchor

I know this a long-shot question, but just wondering if anyone here has come up with a better way to get weeds off the bow anchor. The dirty manual process just ain't much fun.

AP2 currently has not just a mustache, but a full brown goatee!

I just dip mine back in till it's clean. You must be putting your anchor somewhere funky.

lifting and dropping the anchor in and out of the water works pretty good for me...maybe 4 or 5 splashes gets even the most stubborn weeds off.

Ive often been tempted to leave the anchor just below the waterline while I idle out of the shallows, but have never done so because I would probably forget I left it down there.
i just use my woman power to get the weeds off don,t know if that would help you
Anchor where it's not so weedy?
using the windless I put it back in the water while running the boat in reverse. Doing that once or twice usually takes care of it.. some times there is no time or place to do that ( like in a crowded muskamoot) so i will wait till I am clear from traffic, Other times I wait till neext day when it is all dried up and it just falls off touching it, It5 can be embarasssing leaving it there though

Well there's my problem, my woman powers just aren't up to snuff!

I guess it is a down side to being on the river. The weeds and clay are incredible. Yesterday the weeds were entangled through nearly the entire chain, and there is probably 25 lbs of seaweed hanging off the anchor. Damn near dragging in the water.

The other day after anchoring out in LSC, the wad of clay was amazing. It was like a core sample. All kinds of zebra mussels, etc. There was so much clay that the next time the anchor wouldn't fall. It was glued up!

Guess I need to invent a 5,000 psi windlass power-wash system. Something with serious cutting power. Anyone interested in funding development?

get a coated chain. mines great but i also have to use the two fisted winch......she hates when I call her that.
Having a small boat I depend on all you guys to be anchored, then I just raft off next to you guys...

I don't think theres an easy way. When I go perch fishing on one of my buddies boat he's like ok pull the anchor lets move and I'm thinking ya you brought me along just to clear all the crap off the anchor.
