Has anyone ever noticed that "the irs" also spells THEIRS? That's all I'm gonna say, or I might get in trouble for preaching with a fiery tounge.

I have a guy that I have been using for years and he is very skilled at finding deductions that others are not willing to account for. He is honest but agressive at the same time. Also covers your audit at no charge if the shi% ever hits the fan from some of the deductions you take.
I would be happy to put you in touch with him if you would like. He would probably review your last couple of returns as well for anything that was missed and give you good advice about how to set things up this year so you are not in the same position again next year.

Those who don't use my guy.
He is an independent and has no ties to any accounting firms etc.

I get taxes done on Monday. I will know then how long i have to stop eating for to save enough to pay taxes April 15

You need to have him set you up to make quarterly payments through the year so you don't have to pay it all at the end of the year....either way, you gotta pay.

Need you really ask Grapes? Well, I will let you in on the little secret. It will be you, your kids and my kids and grandkids if I am ever lucky enough to have them.

So very true. That is if they allow my kids to have kids by then.

I'll give you a call when the nightcrawlers surface again this spring

I'm 1099 also. I go to custom accounting on 13mile in roseville. Imagine that, I don't owe a penny this year. They find every possible deduction under the sun

We've pretty much had to pay the last 3 years or so. 2 incomes in that way screws you. But went to Joe Simasko again and he got a NICE return for us this year. Of course we had to claim Single and 1 all year, then file Married and 2 to do it...

Used to set it up so that we paid a little each year: an interest free loan from the gooberment each year instead of too the gooberment. Very, very small satisfaction, but better than nothing.
Now between social security, a few tax free bonds, a peppercorn pension and a paid for house, there is no need for the tax dude. Couldn't beat the standard deduction with a stick (0r major surgery).

Solution to higher taxes: lower income!

thats nothing to be proud of, that only means is that the government kept your money interest free for an entire year...

I know - I used to balance it to almost 0, but since Taxman did it I get more back.

I started out at the beginning of the year putting $$ aside each pay...... as time went on..... not so disciplined

What really sucks is that I bought a new truck last year on Feb 12th, and if you bought a vehicle on Feb 16th or later, you could deduct the sales tax. 4 fricking days, wish the salesman would have told me about it (if he knew about it), I would have gladly waited.

Great! I am going to need them this year. Health reasons kept me on dry land after May so I have a lot of making up to do.
