I'd have to say NYE 2000 in Tronto. Went to Guverment with 6,999 other people. One hell of a club. But overall I think NYE has been a dump for me year in and year out. There's so much hype put on this night that it never seems to live up to it.
Spent in Prague CZ for 2000. Was with my ex and her sis 4 Brits, 2 Germans. Dinner and then to Wenceslas Square to watch people blowing off their fireworks. Chugging bottles of Spumanti and watching the idiots who blew their hands off carried out of the mayhem by the Polizei and ambulances. Was on the Charles Bridge for midnight and watched an amazing fireworks show over the Vltava river over the mideval castle on top of the overlooking hill. People were bouncing and you could really feel the bridge damn near giving way. Walked up the hill to check out the presidential palace and stopped into a bar to use the toilet. We had to order a drink to use and decided to stay to do shots of Becherovka until about 4. Went back to the flat and laughed our a$$es off when one friend of ours came out of his bedroom with a pair of shorts to short to hide his assets. Ate our sugar pigs with coins in their mouths for good luck and passed out!!

This is a pretty true statement.
With one exception for me. Four years ago I spent News Year Eve in Melbourne Australia with my brother and his family, that was pretty cool.
None have been too memorable yet.................spent the past 3 or 4 not doing a damn thing.....sittin' at home. I expect this year's will be one of the best!!!!! Just think of the company I'll be in!!

Rerun, I couldn't agree with you more. The guvernment was one hell of a party that year. I have no clue where that night even went. Which room did you party in there?
I'm not sure what my best one was. Dinner in Greektown and the Casino and then to a house party with a group of people a couple years ago was fun. Jill got us tickets to see Dokken at the Ritz on NYE about 6 years ago. Whiplash Bash '91 with Zeeb was fun.
But I'd have to say some of my other favorites were just me and Jill and a bottle of champagne, staying in and watching the ball drop on TV.
Can honestly say I have never had an outstanding NYE that I can remember?
They've all been mediocre if compared to other parties and events that I've been to. This year hopefully will be different! I won tickets to Gino's so what the heck plan on stopping by and saying hi to some friends and have a few drinks then off to our friends house to bring in the New Year, who happen to live down the way from Gino's. Have a sitter which will cost me a small fortune! <_<
I also thought going away to some nice tropical island would be the way to go! Hopefully one of these years!
I don't remember. Maybe last year, what did we do??? Maybe it was when I was like 8 or so and the baby sitter let us stay up till 12 to see the ball drop on TV and we talked her and a couple of girlsfriends that she had over that we should all be naked.
That baby sitter vanished after that. I wonder what happened to her???

Our group set up a home base in the Warehouse for the most part. There was like 50 of us and that was the only room where you could find anyone. Every other room was body to body. But I'd say I spent the most time in the main room. Heard a awesome techno version of where the streets have no name (U2). Everytime I hear that song I still think back to that night. Where were you guys chilling?
nye is no big deal to me. everyone gets all worked up trying to be at THE party, new outfits, etc, all this after the insanity of christmas. whew! no thanks!
no one nye sticks out in my head; they've all been fun. but if i had to choose one it would be 1999 when ALL my friends went to Athna Hall on gratiot and partied our arses off. i think there were 50 of us or so? some couples, some singles... it was a BLAST!
The best would have been New Years Eve 1999, going into 2000. We went to Laguna Beach with a group of friends for the week, but the night of New Years Eve, we had a limo take us into Los Angeles, we all got suites at the Mondrian Hotel, and partied at Sky Bar. It was a blast!!
The first year we were married ..
We got a bottle of Champagne, shrimp, lots of finger food and enjoyed the new year together which was very romantic while my in-laws next door had a party with their friends.
Oh, to be young and in love is almost as good as being older and in love. hahaha
The last few years my kids have come over and we play games all night...
