I haven't felt that any of my jobs have been real until from last year owning my own company and now being a professor at MCC. Everything previous has seemed like I had no future.

My first payed employment was making pasta noodles from semolina, egg, water and white flour at Salvatori Scallopini in Madison Heights.

My first job (it was real to me as I had to be there and it paid real money) was when I was 13, (25 years ago) sweeping up hair and refilling the bottles at a barber shop. I worked on average about 15 hours a week and got paid from the barber's tips, usually around $10.00 to $12.00 a week. If I hit $15.00 a week, I was estatic and went next door to the ice cream shop for a treat. That was my second job, at the ice cream place.

Paper Route at the age of 10. I was so business savvy, I had three routes of over 65 papers each and I saved up enough to get me a sweet little moped to make my job faster.
Then first job that forced me to pay taxes... Murrays Discount Auto as the Parts Clerk. 16 years old. I got to rotate brake Rotars. Pretty cool job for a total tomboy like myself.
