What's the best golf club

Thought I'd throw it out there. Is it Oakland Hills? Windgate? I always heard that Windgate was the club of clubs in this area. But Oakland Hills host PGA events and you really can't argue about anything if your playing the same hole Tiger birdied the day before. What do you all think?

Reun...I have not a clue other than what I hear at the office. All of my co-workers are golfers. My CEO is a member at Oakland Hills. I was there for the US Open and will be there for the Ryder Cup which is scheduled for 2004. Its supposed to be a quite an event. They say Oakland Hills course is one of the top in the country. Somebody correct me I am wrong. I am not sure if Windgate has ever been selected to handle these type of events
Wingate doesn't come close to Oakland hills in terms of hosting events by any means. But I thought it cost way more to join Windgate than Oakland.

I'm not a real golfer either but the other thread made me think of this topic.
I hear Harsen's Island is pretty nice

Ya know that place could be pretty cool if they would do something with it. I am sure its not a hard course but hey what cool get away with a day for the guys to hang out and be drunk and stupid

I am somewhat suprised a developer hasn't done anything with the course, put some homes around it, and clean the course up ect...

I think if the island keeps the pace of growth and development somebody will do just that I hope -or- sell it for condo and home development...NOT COOL if that happens

The Wyndgate is MY favorite!!! It's gorgeous - not that they ALL aren't in their own special way - Maybe it's the prestige of the Wyndgate - but I LOVE that place!

Hit Shores.....
I played the Links of Novi a few years back and it was pretty nice. I'm no golf pro by even the slightest reach of the imagination, though. I grew up near Idianwood in Lake Orion and they always had PGA and LPGA events. As kids we used to sneak in and play a lot on the course. From what I remember it was very nice.
Shepherds Hollow is a pretty nice course, facility too.
I think it is $120 a round
Best golf club as in membership or, golf club as in what you hit the ball with?

Played Oakland Hills twice. Thought it was amazing but couldn't take the stressed out member who brought us. He was all worried that we'd somehow embarrass him. Bay Harbor up north is superior. Gotta play the Quarry.
Garlands up north is also awsome.Played it many a times.
