Where are the fish?

902 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  PelicanKayaker
Well I went out to selfridge about 100 yards out at 5:30p.m.
Fished till 6:15p.m. only saw some gobys. A guy at cotton road said the fishing there was horrible. Any tips on where the fish are at and what are they biting on?

thanks,
Paul

It is hit and miss. There is a thread about cotton being good over the past few days. Gino's has been good for some and bad for others. Everyone is different, but for the most part I am a believer in moving (a bunch). To each their own, but if I have clear water and I don't see any action within 20-30 minutes, I pull everything and move at least 100 feet. In this clear water with my Aqua Vu I have watched perch come from at least 20-30 feet to my lures on a beeline. Based on this, I believe that perch in this clear water can see at least 30-40 feet. I will say that I have caught nice fish as deep as 8 feet and as shallow as 18" of water this year. They seem to be inconsistent and at many different depths at any given day.
