We were on the water by 7 am on Sunday morning. Tried fishing out in front of Metro - Pyrate's lure hooked a 2" baby bass while he was reeling it in. Moved over to out in front of the Clinton River, dropped the underwater camera in, saw a bunch of perch about 10 ft down, but they never took a nibble.
Moved the boat out again, near the red 4 marker near the south channel, but nothing there either. Only heard of a few people getting anything on Sunday. We finally gave up and hit the sand bar for a swim.

Are the fish getting too smart, or are we just not using the right stuff. We were using nightcrawlers, minnows, and various lures, rigs, but didn't seem to have any luck.

My little guy (8 tomorrow) even started to get disappointed, and he'll usually fish all day until he catches something - although he's usually lucky enough to catch several throughout the course of a morning or night trip.

Any advice?

anywhere around the mouth of the Clinton should be good now,......there were an awful lot of fish released there last weekend!! I'd also try the outside edge of the rock rip-rap along the mouth of the clinton too.....deffinetely have to keep those little one's on fish to keep their interest up.........keep up the good work!!

4lb. smoke fireline, awesome stuff, so under rated, follow the instructions, meaning tie some mono on first, otherwise the stuff spins on the reel. All fish feel bigger, so remember that.

h2o<------has been using it since it came out..
