Just wanted to pass word along that Musical Goalies is now over in Detroit. Hasek announced today that he will not return from his groin injury.

Although I think he is a great goalie, he put the organization in a really $hitty position this year by deciding to come out of retirement. We could of used a portion of that money to sign another player. I am looking forward to seeing CuJo prove the skeptics wrong and bring home a cup.

Legace is all they need, CuJo sucks and is very inconsistent, like Roy.

I'm kinda wondering if this was part of Hasek's plan all along?!
Ala Uwe Krupp? You know, work 14 games, fake a sore groin(hard to prove) & collect an easy 8 mill? Hmm.
Says in the Detroit Free Press that he's NOT retiring though, which makes it even MORE suspicious. He HAD to play for us if he came back, to finish out his contract. After this season, he's free to go......
I bet next year he's healthy for some other team!

I've always been impressed with Legace. When Cujos contract is up, I vote let him go and Legace gets the nod for the number one spot. He deserves it, he has earned it, and in my opinion he is good enough to have at least a shot at it.

I never liked Hassek either. We gave him a Stanley Cup. He said thanks for the cup. See ya. I thought we snaked Cujo. Play offs are play offs, you cant win the cup every year. I think we treated Cujo poorly. This really makes things F-ed up for Cujo. Do we say ooops sorry dude, we need ya after all. Would he just say kiss my a$$ Im not your beeotch!

Boy Hassek has become one big pain in the a$$!!!!

I meant the a$$ like donkey a$$ not the bad word a$$.

It won't matter. There is going to be a lockout next season

And by the way, Cujo far from sucks... If you are a hockey fan, and not just a wings fan, you would remember him singlehandedly winning playoff series.

However, I do agree that Manny is ready and deserves a shot. I used to play with/against Manny, he's a great guy, and a very good, solid, consistent netminder

I do remember Cujos play off greats. But he doesn't seem to play as consistantly as he did back then. Isn't he the highest paid goalie in the NHL right now? Don't get me wrong, I like him alot more than Hasek, (I never was a big Hasek fan) but in my opinion Manny is proving his value the most. I'm just glad he isn't looking for a starting career somewhere else.

Wax, that's cool that you played with and against Manny. What kind of hockey was it? Minors, college, travel league?

I played with him in Juniors... I spent my senior year in High School in Quebec, playing hockey. I also played on some tourney teams with him, a long time ago.
So I watched slapshot and Youngblood both over 20 times.

i think CuJo got a raw deal this season, and he handled all of the bull$hit really well. Instead of quitting, he was going to play minor league hockey. That is pretty admirable, when he was brought here to suceed Dom and continue our winning tradition. He got hosed by the team in the playoffs, I can't remember how many goals we scored against the ducks, but I don't think we scored more than two in a game in the whole series, and Cujo had a GAA arouns 2, which is pretty darn good.

Manny has good numbers, but he always plays against weaker teams. Plus he has a great team in front of him. I would like to see how good he really is with less of a team in front of him and more formidable (sp?) opponents.

Good!

I think it was cover up anyway for him to come back!

Avoiding trouble....

Liked Cujo! Think he didn't get a fair chance...Glad he is here!

We would be screwed right now if they traded him or he just said screw this shidt!

The wings scored 6 goals in 4 games against the ducks in the playoffs...
If you look at Cujo's save pct. from last years playoffs, it is right around the same as Dom's...
And don't forget, Nick Lindstrom's 50 ft slapshot turned the Vancouver series around in the wings cup run in 02, and had that not happened, they could have gotten bounced again, being down 2-0 in the series even with Dom...
(Not that he's not great, he is, just a little over-hyped)

CBj, that is admirable movie viewing
