URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DETROIT/PONTIAC MI
405 PM EST MON FEB 2 2004

...INCLEMENT WEATHER HEADED FOR SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN...
.A LOW PRESSURE CENTER WILL MOVE OUT OF THE MID MISSISSIPPI VALLEY
TONIGHT AND REACH FAR SOUTHWESTERN LOWER MICHIGAN BY DAYBREAK
TUESDAY. AS THIS LOW TRACKS NORTHEAST...MOISTURE WILL SURGE
NORTHWARD INTO SOUTHEAST LOWER MICHIGAN THIS EVENING. A MIX OF
FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET WILL REACH THE BORDER COUNTIES BY MID
EVENING...THEN RAPIDLY EXPAND NORTH. THIS MIX OF PRECIPITATION WILL
GRADUALLY CHANGE OVER TO SNOW LATE TONIGHT...BUT NOT BEFORE
DEPOSITING A LAYER OF ICE ON EXPOSED SURFACES.

DRIVERS SHOULD PREPARE FOR SLIPPERY DRIVING CONDITIONS TONIGHT.

LENAWEE-LIVINGSTON-MACOMB-MONROE-OAKLAND-WASHTENAW-WAYNE-
INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...ADRIAN...ANN ARBOR...DETROIT...HOWELL... MONROE...PONTIAC...WARREN 332 PM EST MON FEB 2 2004

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM EST MONDAY UNTIL 6
AM EST TUESDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DETROIT/PONTIAC HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR THOSE COUNTIES OF SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN
ESSENTIALLY ALONG AND SOUTH OF THE M 59 CORRIDOR...EFFECTIVE UNTIL
6 AM TUESDAY.

A MIX OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET WILL DEVELOP NORTH INTO LENAWEE AND
MONROE COUNTIES BY MID EVENING...THEN RAPIDLY EXPAND TO THE NORTH.
THIS MIX OF PRECIPITATION WILL GRADUALLY CHANGE OVER TO SNOW LATE
TONIGHT...BUT NOT BEFORE DEPOSITING A LAYER OF ICE UP TO ABOUT A
TENTH OF INCH THICK ON EXPOSED SURFACES. AROUND AN INCH OF NEW SNOW

It looks like we are gonna get our typical Jan ice storm in Feb this year.

It could be worse. http://www.edu.gov.nf.ca/snow/photo.htm


I wonder how much that snow would bring up the lake levels?

I just got home from Auburn Hills and they have an inch of snow allready! Once you hit Van **** it will turn to snow if you are heading west!

Preaty easy drive in. Freeways were fine, a little slush on some surface streets. Not to bad.

Drive careful.
