I have read more than once that you should shift from a tight wiggling bait (like a Rapala) to a wide slow wobbling crankbait as the summer progresses. Does anyone have any experience if there is any truth to that statement? I have always done better with Husky Jerk Rapala when the water is cold, but that may just be the places that I fish. BB

i do the reverse. i fish the slower, wide wobble baits early and the faster, tight wiggle baits later in the season. As the water cools in the fall i go back to wide wobble baits. but there're exceptions. whenever water clarity is low i usually go to baits that rattle and/or thump and vibrate on the retrieve, whatever the speed.
