42 miles.

90 minutes mornings.
90-120 minutes evenings.
With no traffic, it's 50 minutes at the speed limit on all roads.

Too damn far! In the summer it's road construction. Then the kids go back to school and somehow that binds things up (all those teachers and kids driving and buses, I think), then there's snow. And every day someone speeding runs into someone else.

I have about 23 miles to go to work. Depending on what is playing on the radio or my mood, I can make it to work in 20 to 25 minutes. Lately with all the construction at the north end of M53 it has been about 35 to 40 minutes now.

To the office, about a mile. Even on the worst day a few minutes. But, I cover South East Michigan. So, I can be in Toledo in the morning and Saginaw in the afternoon. We also have contracts in Indy. That always makes life interesting as there are only two of us here at this office. Two weeks ago I got a call at 5:30pm in Detroit. That one lasted til 7:30am the next morning. I got to drive home and sleep in between pages til about 4 then got up and drove to Indy. Luckily all went well in Indy and I was home the next afternoon with no other calls. My worst days are 2 hour drives each way to the customers to put a roller into a laser printer. 5 minute calls and 4 hours of drive. Yuck.
