kat-

I'm self employed and pretty much do some kind of work every single day- whether it be computer work or simply returning phone calls- there is always something-

but then again....I can do that stuff from anywhere......so it allows me alot of flexibility.

Back in the early eightys I worked 8-1/2 months straight with no days off. 14 hours M-F 10 on Sat and 8 on Sun. And was going to college 4 hours a week too. I have work hundreds of sundays over the years in the automotive tooling trade. That stretch of hours back then cost me a relationship (marriage) I had then. I was never around, always working.

Yepp has been a while though since economy slowed down, I hated Saturdays, Sundays weren’t bad because of the double time. For a month straight I did 12 hours a day 7 days a week. Money was great uncle Sam loved me, never was hardly home except to sleep. Half a day on Saturday isn’t bad and half on Sunday, if they’ll let you get away with only half a day. Afternoons really sucked doing it, I know summer someone’s going to bump me back on to them again.

I personally have not had to, but Kennyg does on and off. Last year he started 7/12's in April and worked until October. Made for a pretty poopie summer. I know it's hard for him, but it's his trade. Take the good with the bad. You'll get through it.

7 days is a snap when you're starting a new company and have no life anyway!!!!
Been doing it since before Xmas except for doing a little skiing here and there.

In automotive, working at a manufacturing facility, it comes with the territory. 70-80 hours for many years. I also traveled out here alot, sometimes 2-3 times a month. Even did a 3 year stint setting up a plant in the Netherlands.

Even though I lived in a really great area, I was at work or traveling 95% of the time and couldn't enjoy the lifestyle that I wanted. No time to boat, hike, or ski. SO, I moved out here instead and now pretty much have a 40 hour week every week.

I gotta tell ya, I'd trade all the $$ and success I've made for that 70-80 hour job to be able to move back to NH...

...If not for the kewl people I've met during my time in ichigan, I'd a done it along time ago...

I did two jobs 7 days including holidays for about 2.5 years when i was younger. Being self employed I still work a lot now but I try not to do 8 hrs on weekends.
Tis the season for taxes-so don't worry too much Kat. Its good to work lots of hrs in the winter and take time off in the summer

Used to work 7 days a week and had two jobs, when I was a single mom. Did it for a couple years. It's rough.

Tango works all the time in the warmer months, thankfully he's usually home at a decent time.

Tax season will be over soon Kat, just hang in there.
