QUOTE(Big_Z @ Mar 6 2010, 10:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Hello,
Let me know if you need any help. Outboard is real simple to do. How long its been since last tune up. How old is the outboard.

Thanks for responding. I have had the spark plugs changed. But have done anyhting else except change the oil. I do alot of trolling with it though. It's a 2005 motor that I bought new in 2006.

Hello,
Its all simple stuff. If it runs ok then there is nothing to do except!!! Check spark plug gap every year, check spark plug wires, replace fuel filters, replace gear lube oil, engine oil.

I would also replace your water impeller and check prop for damage and play.

Also its imprtant to install a fuel water separator on all engines that run on todays gas fuel mix.

Now for the inside of the case: When you drain the lube oil check for metal shavings or chunks. If you see just a small flakes its normal and just leave it how it is.

Carbs just need to have the bowls cleaned. Thats all.
